i watched your bridegroom documentary nov.8.2024] i'm confused about my sexuality i first heard gay word at school but i realizw its beautiful meaning at grade 12 and since then i feel like i m gay too coz as i look past i always love the guys purely had crush on them i m now 21 yrs currently studying CA from NEPAL everyday i wish to openly tell my parents that i like boys however i think the about people around them that they will attack my parents verbally and make their life worse and i stop your and tom's story it isbeautiful meaningful full of pure love that one wishes to have in today's world i hope you are living your life fully your story is one of the inspiring for my life and is going to be i too hope in future i have a beautiful and supprotable partner(love) and have a lovely life just like you and tom have rest in peace tom and i pray to god that people should be humble respectfull of eachother thank you for sharing your lovely story

I tried to watch the documentary on Netflix this week, but apparently, it’s no longer available. So, I have yet to see this documentary, but I will say kudos to Shane for being a rock star. He was able to keep Tom and his story alive despite Tom's family's attempts to silence and erase him from Tom’s life. BRIDEGROOM celebrates Tom's live and what he and Shane had. It also keeps Tom's death from being in vain! Rest in eternal peace, Thomas Lee Bridegroom (04/22/1982 - 05/07/2011)! If people are ever in the Knox/Winamac, Indiana, area. Tom is buried at the Winamac Cemetery, 414 South 50 West, Winamac, IN 46996. Please pay your respects to a courageous man!

I just turned 29 fifteen days ago (the same as Tom was when he passed away) and it feels strange to get to this point and realize how young he really was, I first saw Bridegroom when I was 21 and thought WTF? How awful it must feel to loose the love of your life under tragic circumstances and being threaten if showing up at his funeral just on his parents whim, just because they thought gay love shouldn’t be because “It’s a sin”. I mean, didn’t Tom’s dad go to Vietnam? How many people he must have killed? How come that’s not a sin but being gay is? Seriously that kind of boomers and their double standards really piss me off, when their time comes I really hope they regret everything they did to Shane and Tom.

This is an extremely sad story, all I can do is send my love from Scotland ❤❤

I am 61 and have just watched Bridegroom again for the second time, I cry every time I see it. I am so so very sorry for the incredibly tragic loss of Tom. To see such true love and friendship was a wonderful thing to witness so thank you for sharing that part of your personal life. I have watched, I have listened and I have learned. Tom would be so very proud of the man you became and keeping his memory alive. Again my deepest condolences.

I am 65, straight and never been truly loved. By anyone. Never in a truly committed relationship. This story while heartbreaking is also so beautiful to me. How lucky these 2 were even for such a short time. How lucky couples are they get to enjoy life together, even for a short time. Traveling, sharing everything...something I long for but will never have. And Shane was also blessed to find a second love. All my best wishes to him and Rayvon. And shame on anyone that is down on love! It is precious.

You can see / feel how much you loved each other ❤ What you are doing for the LGBTQ community reinforces that Toms passing was not in vain. Btw It's end of 2023 feel like i used to live under-rock bcs i haven't seen this documentary I'm on same boat as tom i don't have a lover but coming out to my family is life and death and i don't think I'll ever risk my life. We played this at my grandsons funeral in April. He was 2 1/2 years old. Hardest thing I've gone through. He is definitely in the arms of Jesus.

2- 08-2023-just watched this video again after many .years and still find it very emotional . Time changes nothing but we have moved on . Marraiges are now legal Between same sex . I hope you are now settled shane as your advocating for fay rights has made a difference worldwide x I often wonder how Toms parents feel now after the way they dealt with his death . So, YEARS later. It's still like this here Shane... I absolutely hate this town. So many are ignorant and then arrogant about being ignorant. Also very hypocritical.
